Happy New Year to you all. ATVBC is looking forward to a great year and the anticipation of a resurgence in our ability to ride the trails we love so much.
Trail Maintenance and Development Grant Funding
The intake for the grants from both ATVBC and the ORV Trail Fund has been moved up this year. You will now need to get your applications in a month earlier than usual as application deadlines are February 15 and February 18 respectively. Good luck with your applications!
On the note of regional conferences, the Island has really jumped on this, with the Mid-Island ATV Club gearing up to host an event in mid-July in Gold River. There is apparently some amazing riding in that area, so I personally am looking forward to being there. We are still looking for other places in the province to hold regionally based meetings, so if you have any ideas, please let us know.

2022 ATVBC Poker Ride
The much-missed annual ATVBC Poker Ride is on again and once again we are going to try and hold it in Logan Lake. Despite the wildfires they had and the near miss on the town, they are still very enthusiastic to hold the event. The Logan Lake ATV Club is working on a whole set of new trails to the southwest of the town, many of which have not been ridden except by the locals. There are some great trails and magnificent scenery in that direction. The event will be held in conjunction with Logan Lake’s 50th anniversary celebrations, so those too will be available for riders to attend and participate in.
2022 ATVBC Jamboree and AGM
For ATVBC’s AGM and ATV Jamboree this year, we thought we would try something a little different, under the guidance of First VP Ralph Matthews, the committee is looking to hold the event in Valemount, again with spectacular scenery and amazing trails. If you have not attended an AGM and Jamboree before, this is one you won’t want to miss.
ATVBC is hiring!
ATVBC continues its search for a new General Manager, while we have received a number of applications, none of them so far have the solid experience that we need in order to provide you with the best service we can. We will keep looking and hope to have a great person in place soon. Stay tuned.
ATVBC Trail Ambassador Program
ATVBC is still looking for people to join the Trail Ambassador Program, so if you or anyone you know might be interested, please don’t hesitate to get a hold of either Janice or 2nd VP Dave MacIntosh, they would love to hear from you.
And don’t forget the ATVBC 2021 – 2022 Raffle. The draw date is March 12, 2022 with $20,000 cash up for grabs. If you haven’t purchased your ticket yet, don’t wait, March will be here before you know it.
All of us here at ATVBC wish you the best for 2022 and hope that things will return to something a little more normal. We look forward to seeing many of you at our events and perhaps even on the trails.
