The official riding season is about to begin as last snows fall in April. I think all of us are looking forward to a fresh beginning to our riding adventures now that we have less to worry about when it comes to the pandemic. Please remember to be safe when out in the bush and may I suggest that you plan your events so that you and your club members get the most out of your trips.
Membership changes and waivers
By now you may have seen the notes that have been coming out from ATVBC regarding the changes to membership renewals and waivers. I cannot stress enough the importance in obtaining these waivers for any club events that you will be conducting this year. We all realise that this is could be considered a major inconvenience, but it is for everyone’s protection, and ATVBC appreciates you putting the effort into gathering the waivers from your members and guests.
A Club’s Perspective on Upcoming Membership and Waiver Changes
Learn how the Vernon ATV Club is adapting to the changes
I recently read that a couple of the Canadian NHL hockey teams have launched multi-million dollar lawsuits against insurance companies for losses suffered during the pandemic, and these, if successful, will have a ripple effect throughout the insurance industry. All the more reason why we need to be diligent in satisfying the needs of our insurance providers.
ATVBC has heard your feedback and has requested that an insurance representative attend ATVBC’s next Club Presidents meeting. Watch for details.
2022 ATV rides and events
For 2022, ATVBC has decided not to attend the Lower Mainland Sportsman Show, but rather use the funds to encourage smaller, more regionally based events so that more of our members can attend. I am pleased to announce that we have the first of these events set to happen on Vancouver Island June 17 – June 19, 2022 in Gold River. I must say, from the information I have seen on this event, the Mid-Island Club, with assistance from other clubs on the Island have done an amazing job with the planning. I am looking forward to being there. Look for registration information to be coming out in the not to distant future.
It is promising to be a great ORV year, so don’t forget to put the ATVBC Poker Ride being held in Logan Lake on your calendar, along with the ATVBC AGM and Jamboree slated for Valemount in early August. ATVBC will also be holding another raffle, with the early bird draw at the AGM. Information this will be also coming out soon.
My tracks are coming off this week and we’ll be back on wheels for the summer. Looking forward to seeing some of you out on the trails.
