Some interesting things are happening these days, and some of it may impact our sport. Specifically, the threat of tariffs on just about everything. If they happen, it will have an adverse effect on off-roading. The manufacturers are already hurting from much lower sales of new machines as a result of the glut of used machines on the market from purchases made during the pandemic. For example, Polaris has seen a 78% reduction in net income year over year, and sales are down 23% year over year. The other OEMs are also not doing that well. So, if the tariffs come into effect, expect that machines and spares will go up in price and that availability may not be there either.
On a brighter note, tradeshows are all set to go, starting with the first one on March 01 in Vancouver. There will be a total of 7 tradeshows that ATVBC will be represented at. Check out the ATVBC website for dates and locations, and come out and pay us a visit. Kudos to Director Katherine Perez for all her hard work in putting these together.

ATVBC and Logan Lake ATV Club are getting a lot of interest shown for this year’s Poker Ride. We are still on track to go live with online registration on March 01, 2025.

We are also planning on doing some ATV training for members at the event, and offering some skills building workshops as well.
As I stated in my January report, we are still looking for a club to host the 2025 AGM and, hopefully, a jamboree for all members. If you know of a club who might be interested, please reach out to ATVBC.
ATVBC has a new 1st. Vice President. Padraig Tedford has been elected to fill this position until the next AGM. If you happen to be talking to Padraig, congratulate him on his new appointment.
The ATVBC committees such as Membership, Safety, and Lands & Advocacy continue to work on a number of initiatives to improve not only the individual members’ experience, but to also assist the clubs with the challenges they have with such things as member retention, trail access, and club management. One of the things that will be published shortly is the Club Support Resource Guide. A copy will be provided to each club, and updates from ATVBC will be provided on a regular basis. This is designed to supplement your own club resources.
Spring Is not far away, so for those of you who took the winter off, now would be a good time to looking to get your machines ready to ride.
