Happy New Year to everyone!   I hope that your holiday season was a good one! We, at ATVBC, are looking forward to a great year in 2025 – to providing for our members as well as much more support to the clubs.

Here are some of the things that we have already begun for 2025:

  • The ORV Trail Fund will begin receiving applications late in January. Two successful seminars were conducted recently that highlighted the changes for this year both in the application forms and in the reporting process.
  • ATVBC’s grant finding is also underway for the first intake, and successful applications will be announced later this month. The second intake will commenced on January 15th.
  • Planning for the 2025 Poker Ride in Logan Lake is well underway, and the plan is to open up registration for the event on March 01, 2025. We are expecting a good turn out for the event and some interesting new rides in the Logan Lake area.
  • Unfortunately, we have not yet had a club step up for the 2025 AGM and Jamboree, but we are hopeful that a club will.  The lead Director for the AGM will be reaching out to clubs whom he thinks may be good candidates for this.
  • Community street access for ORVs is very high on ATVBC’s list for this year. Following some very positive conversations in the Cariboo with communities along the Gold Rush Snowmobile Trail (GRST) we are anticipating being able to set up a trail program in the area sometime in the spring. ATVBC is also talking with other communities and will continue to engage with them during the year and once again at the UBCM conference in the fall.
  • Director Katherine Perez has been working hard to get ATVBC attendance at a number of different trade shows throughout the province starting with the Northern BC Outdoor Show in Prince George in February. There will be 6 others as well, so we look forward to seeing you there.

Along with these, the ATVBC committees such as Membership and Lands & Advocacy are working on a number of initiatives to improve not only the individual members’ experience, but to also assist the clubs with the challenges they have with such things as member retention, trail access, and club management.
