Well, there you have it, another successful ATVBC Poker Ride in the books. From all accounts it was well attended and there were a lot of prizes given away. My congratulations to both the Nicola Valley ATV Club and the Kamloops Trailblazers ATV/SxS Club for a job well done!
As many of you know, ATVBC has been working with the Incomappleux Stakeholders Group for months in an attempt to have the Ministry of Forests shelve the planned deactivation of the Incomappleux Forest Service Road. Deactivation of this road would eliminate the only road access to homes, private property, mineral tenures, and recreation areas throughout the valley.
On July 08, 2026, more than 70 community members, property owners, industry representatives, recreation organisations, tourism operators, and local government officials met in Trout Lake to visit the site of this proposed deactivation and that of the Rady Creek Road. It was hoped that some of the numerous government people who were invited would be there in person to see what ATVBC, on behalf of the Stakeholder Group has been lobbying for. While a good appreciation of the situation was realised by those in attendance, unfortunately provincial government representation was non-existent. The turnout did demonstrate, however, the willingness of those affected by the deactivation, to help develop a workable solution.

As I mentioned in my last report, Kristin Parsons has ended her contract with ATVBC. We recognise that we will need to find a replacement for her and so have struck a committee to begin the process. A revised position description is under development, and it is planned that ATVBC will be going out to look for suitable candidates by the end of July at the latest. Ideally, my belief is that it would great if someone from our membership who has a good understanding of ATVBC will apply for this role.
We are now a little less than two months to the Jamboree and Annual General Meeting being hosted by the 108 Mile ATV Club. This is our next big event, so if you haven’t registered yet, please don’t wait. I know Mark Redl, ATVBC Director and President of the 108 Club has, with his team, put a lot of effort into making this a great event.
