Well, we are off to the races! Registration for the Poker Ride in Logan Lake opened 2 weeks ago and we are already over 100 people registered!! Planning is going well, and the routes for both the guided rides and the actual poker ride have been tentatively mapped out. We will actually be going out in May to ride them and fine tune anything that is needed.
As an added bonus (other than the ice cream ride being led by the mayor of Logan Lake) the District of Logan Lake has agreed to provide ORV access to the town along designated streets. More detailed information on which streets and any other related information will be provided to all registrants a little closer to the event.
Our tradeshow activity is in full swing, we have now completed 3 out of the 6 we have planned, and while show attendance has not been overwhelming, we have had a lot of interest shown and we have gained a few new members. Next up is the show in Kelowna, then Nanaimo and lastly Victoria. If you are in the neighbourhood, drop in and say hello.
The results of the February membership promotion, FEBLOVE2025, are in and according to Bryce Miller, Chair of the Membership Committee, we gained 76 new members. Way to go Bryce and team!!!
The results of the February – One other thing of note for this month is that ATVBC has signed an agreement with Scatliff + Miller + Murray Inc. (SMM) as the lead consultant for the next phase of the ATV Trail Standards and Specifications Development project in British Columbia. This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with Recreation Sites and Trails BC (RSTBC), is part of a multi-year effort that began in 2022 with the BC PowerSports Coalition to establish comprehensive trail guidelines for all motorized sports. This initiative is long overdue and will provide a standard template for trail building and maintenance.
