This is an auspicious month. On March 27, 2001, twenty-five years ago, the Quad Riders ATV Association of British Columbia was incorporated. I have a story to tell about ATVBC, but it will take some months to tell the whole story.
I am going start by to stealing a little about ATVBC in the beginning from the history of the Quad Squad South Cariboo ATV Club. This club was formed in 2000 by Norm Boulanger, Walter Levick and Bev Felske. It started off with just a newsletter and the idea was to create a club from people living in the Sheridan Lake, Green Lake and Deka Lake creating a truly South Cariboo Club.
According to Bev Felske, the first AGM held on August 10, 2001 and had 50 people in attendance. Bev Felske was elected as the first President of ATVBC and the organisation had 854 members.
To further quote Bev Felske in her last report as President of ATVBC in 2008:
“The goals of the founding members of ATV/BC in the year 2000 have been met and surpassed. These goals were:
1. Promote and develop ATV clubs all over the Province.
Year 2000 – 3 clubs and 50 members, Year 2007 – 37 clubs and 2300 members.
2. Develop credibility with government as an organization.
2008 -We now have representation on the Provincial Trail Strategy Committee and are receiving grants from difference government ministries.
3. Open an office with paid staff.

In closing, I wish to thank the two gentlemen who worked with me in the creation of ATV/BC, Mr. Ron LaRoy Revelstoke BC and Mr. Bob Orr Prince George BC, for the encouragement, and help they gave me in developing the vision of what could be for an ATV organization. I am very proud of what we have achieved since 2000 and hopefully the development of our organization will continue to be pro-active in the development of our programs for the benefit of all”.

Other current news for March 2026, includes a very successful Outdoor Trade Show in Chilliwack where we were able to sign up over 55 new members.
Registration for the 2026 Poker Ride in Merritt opened on the 18th of this month, so don’t wait to sign up.
February’s FEBLOVE2026 programme attracted over 70 new members, so we are definitely growing in the right direction.
Lastly don’t forget the March membership drive where you can enter to win a $400 prize package when you sign up as a new member or when you renew your existing membership.
