There are many things that have been going on this month, and it is keeping the ATVBC team busy. Here are some highlights of our activities:

  • Obviously, the Poker Ride is top of mind, with over 200 people registered to date. The really interesting part, is that nearly 150 of those have signed up for the Ice Cream Ride. This has necessitated us breaking the ride into two days, one on Wednesday and one on Thursday.  The routes for the guided rides and the actual poker ride will be finalised next weekend. We have some great people who have volunteered to help map out the trails.

  • Jane and I just spent a great weekend in a four club campout, hosted by the 108 Club. They have some great riding areas in their neck of the woods, and there is thought to having them host an ATVBC event, possibly in 2026. Thanks go out to Mark Redl, President of the 108 Club, and his volunteers who did a great job of organising the event.
  • Work continues with Scatliff + Miller + Murray Inc. (SMM) as the lead consultant for the ATV Trail Standards and Specifications Development project in British Columbia and they have begun work on the project.  They will be publishing a survey early in June to gain further information for this project. Look for it in your inbox.
  • One of the ATVBC Directors, Cal Kaytor, has been nominated to sit on the Board of the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC. Their AGM is next week so we are keeping our fingers crossed that he is elected.
  • Good news on the club front. We have a new club joining ATVBC, and that is Barriere ATV & SxS Club.. So welcome to them, it is great to have another club in the interior.  There is also some preliminary discussion going on with the Tumbler Ridge Outdoor Recreation Association regarding having them join ATVBC as well. The interesting fact here, is that it is not just ATVs, but includes other groups such as snowmobiles, and the mountain bikers. This type of club would be a first for ATVBC.

  • Lastly, don’t forget the Spring 50/50 draw that is on right The winning ticket will be drawn on July 05, 2025 right after the Poker Ride is completed. So, buy your tickets now!!
