As we head into the final weeks of the year, November brought significant movement on several key advocacy files, deeper collaboration with partners across the province, and continued support for our clubs and volunteers. ATVBC remains focused on protecting access, strengthening relationships, and ensuring the interests of riders are represented at every table.
Advocacy & Access
Work across multiple regions continued this month as ATVBC pushed for clarity, transparency, and consistency in land use and trail access.
We followed up directly with Ministry of Water Lands, Resource Stewardship senior staff, including an in-person meeting with ADM David Muter, where updates on the IPCA and 30×30 commitments were promised at the November 25 Club Presidents Meeting.
We also attended the Tŝilhqot’in Tlatsini land planning session and participated in the Tahltan–BC Land Stewardship Planning Workshop and Open House (TBCLUP-Newsletter), where we built strong connections with planners, BC Mining leaders, and BCWF representatives.
The Incomappleux stakeholder group met to review government responses and discuss next steps, while preparations continued for ORV Access and Rady Creek stakeholder meetings scheduled for early December. Outreach is also underway with Area C representatives and MLA Wilson regarding the Columbia & Western Trail, with a regional meeting expected in early December.
Across all regions, ATVBC continues to raise concerns about inconsistent trail and road deactivation practices and the need for coordinated approaches between ministries.

Partnerships & Industry Engagement
ATVBC continued to deepen relationships with partners across the outdoor recreation and powersports sectors.
We connected BC911 Emergency Responders with ATVBC Clubs to support regional ORV training initiatives. Work with the BC Powersports Coalition continued, including discussions on the ORV Fund and Chapter 10 update project, along with new ideas for joint presentations at the ORCBC 50th Anniversary event in 2026.
Meetings with ORCBC explored opportunities to showcase motorized recreation at their major anniversary event, and we reviewed and shared the province’s new Outdoor Recreation Economic Impact Report with our members and sector partners. Engagement with Mapgears continued as we look for ways to advance mapping technologies through potential grant partnerships.
Member & Club Support
Supporting our clubs remains at the core of what we do. In November, we attended the inaugural board meeting of the Lost Traction ATV & SxS Club to help with training, governance, and program orientation. We also provided multiple clubs with guidance on bylaws, advocacy needs, and event promotion.
Letters of Support were prepared for GFATV for their 2026 grant applications, and new connections were established between Kelowna ATV and their regional district to explore ORV and SAR training opportunities.
Grants & Funding
ATVBC advanced several major grant files this month, including completing the final 2025 MotoCanada report, and updating reporting for the ORV Trail Fund. We were successful in our grant application for a Polaris Grant in the amount of $10,000 USD to go towards trail signage, our dealer kit program and a new mapping project. We will be sharing more about these exciting new projects in early 2026.
We are awaiting news on the 2026 MotoCanada funding opportunity and have begun preparing for 2026 ORV funding cycles well ahead of schedule.
