This is always a very interesting time of the year. On one hand we are gearing up for things that need to be accomplished in the coming year, while on the other hand we are winding things down for the Christmas season. Here are some of the things that ATVBC is working on:

The ATVBC Trail Grant Intake #1 is now in progress. This grant opportunity opened up on November 01, 2025 and closes on December 15, 2025. As you may be aware, this is funded by our 50/50 draws, and is dependant on the amount that we take in on the draw and can vary from year to year. Grant Intake #1 has been structured to align with the intake schedule of the Provincial ORV Trail Fund to allow clubs to leverage ATVBC funding towards matching funds for ORV Trail Fund applications on larger trail projects.

The Provincial ORV trail funding grant intake opens in mid-January for a 6 week period. All decisions for ATVBC Trail Maintenance and Development Grant applications received by the Dec 15th deadline will be communicated to clubs by Jan 15th to allow them to submit matching fund applications for the Provincial ORV Fund.

ATVBC is very pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant of $10,000 from Polaris. This grant is to support the Safe & Sustainable Trail Access Project, which combines three high-impact initiatives:

  1. Trail Signage and Wayfinding;
  2. Safety Kit Distribution;
  3. Trail Mapping and Data Consolidation.

Over the next month, we will be putting more information out about this project and how your club can assist.

  • We are also very pleased to announce that the 2026 ATVBC Annual General Meeting and Jamboree will be hosted by the 108 Mile ATV Club from September 09, 2026 to September 14, 2026, with lots of rides planned, and the actual AGM to be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026. 108 Mile is doing a lot of planning and it sounds like it will be quite the event. They will be releasing more information on their plans in the coming months. So, for now, put it on your calendar.
  • That obviously begs the question as to when the 2026 Poker Ride will be and when. The ATVBC Board has appointed newly elected Director Lance Wilson to be the Chair for the 25th anniversary event. I know that he has already reached out to clubs and I expect that he will be able to provide all of us with a date and location early in the new year.

The ATVBC Committees are beginning their tasks for the coming year as well. Since the AGM, the Land & Advocacy and the Membership Committees have met and with the addition of some of the new Directors are already generating some new ideas on the matters that need to be dealt with. We anticipate that the other committees will begin their meetings in early January, so watch for information from them as well.  As I stated last month, we recognise that there is a wealth of knowledge within the membership and ATVBC really wants to tap into this resource for the benefit of all of us.   So, we are looking for volunteers to sit on one or more of the ATVBC committees. If you are interested, reach out to me, Carrie or Kristin if you wish to get involved.

The deadline for the draw is December 12, 2025. As of today, the jackpot for the 50/50 alone is over $8,100!
