We have had some snow already here at Mile High and the temperatures are letting us know that winter is nearly upon us.
ATVBC ended September with me and the Executive Director attending the Canadian Quad Council (CQC) AGM in Ottawa. For those who don’t know who CQC is, it is an organisation made up of the provincial ORV associations including ATVBC. Their focus is to provide a national voice for ORVing on safety, advocacy, and training.
The meetings were very productive and were attended by all but 2 of the provinces. We will share some of what we learned at those meetings in later newsletters.
On the home front, ATVBC held its orientation for the new directors, so that they can start getting involved with ensuring that ATVBC provides the best resources to its members and clubs. You will also find that your ATVBC director for your club may have changed, so check our website for the club assignments, and don’t be afraid to reach out to your ATVBC Director to see how they can work with you.
One of the things that ATVBC will be doing in the next couple of months, is to look for a venue for the 2025 AGM and Jamboree, so if any of the clubs are interested, please let either myself or Carrie know. ATVBC will be sending out a formal Request for Information to all clubs on hosting the event.
On the grant side of things, some payments for the 2024 grant requests will be paid out in the next week or so. Remember the deadline for submitting your Trail Grant Report is November 15th. Congratulations to those clubs that were successful in obtaining a grant and to the completion of their projects. The 2025 grant programme will open on November 1st. Please watch for this.
Director Katherine Perez is working on the list of trade shows that ATVBC hopes to be at in 2025. We are hoping to be able to attend at least one show in most parts of the province. This list will be finalised by the end of December and we will publish it in the January newsletter. Come out and support us, and perhaps even volunteer at one of the shows. We would love to see you there!
