Intended Land Use/background context: The applicant has applied for winter back-country ski touring, summer hiking from two heli-access lodges that will be built within the Purcell Mountain area, approximately 24km NE of Crawford Bay. The applicant intends to use staging areas near Crawford Bay to fly clients to the lodges, where guests will ski or hike depending on season. The two planned lodge sites will be equipped with sleeping cabins, outhouse, shower, sauna and heli-pad. 800 guests in winter are expected for the first year of operation, then up to 2400 clients in the future. Up to 622 guests in the future are expected for the summer hiking program.
