ATVBC is proud to provide the Skill-Building Partnership Program to collaborate with industry experts across British Columbia to enhance rider education and safety. This initiative provides ATV riders with hands-on training opportunities led by experienced industry professionals at ATVBC events and special ATV club hosted workshops.
Program Goals
- Provide ATV/ORV riders with essential skills training in safe riding, vehicle maintenance, and responsible trail use.
- Strengthen partnerships between ATVBC and local partners to promote shared values of safety, conservation, and rider education.
- Increase community engagement by offering accessible, high-quality training sessions.
How It Works
1. Partner Organizations participation at ATVBC Events:
- Partners can attend ATVBC jamborees, rides, and safety events to lead hands-on skill-building workshops.
- Workshop topics may include:
- Safe riding techniques
- Basic ATV maintenance and troubleshooting
- Proper safety gear and equipment use
- Responsible riding and environmental stewardship
- Partners will have opportunities to showcase products and engage directly with the riding community.
2. Partnership-Hosted Workshops:
- Partners will have the opportunity to host ATVBC-endorsed training sessions at their locations.
- ATVBC will promote these sessions through its website, newsletter, and social media channels.
- Workshops can be tailored to different skill levels, from beginner riders to experienced enthusiasts looking to refine their techniques.

- Youth Program: Focuses on young riders, covering ATV handling, protective gear use, environmental stewardship, and trail-sharing rules.
- Women’s Skills Training: Provides a supportive environment for women riders, covering riding techniques, safety, terrain navigation, and community building.
- Winching Course: Teaches safe and effective winch usage, including equipment types, techniques, and practical exercises.
- Navigation/GPS Course: Covers GPS operation, map reading, and navigation skills to stay on track.
- On-the-Trail Basic First Aid: Prepares riders for emergencies, search and rescue,covering common injuries, emergency response, and first aid kit essentials.
- Basic Machine Care: Teaches pre-ride checks, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Chainsaw Maintenance & Operation: Covers chainsaw parts, safe operation, and maintenance for trail clearing.
- Falling and Bucking for Trail Clearing: Provides skills for safely felling and clearing trees from trails.
- Rescuing Stranded Machines: Teaches machine recovery techniques and safety measures.
- Winterizing Your ATV: Covers cold-weather maintenance, snow/ice riding safety, and proper storage.
- Pre/Post Trip Checks: Teaches essential pre-ride inspections and post-ride maintenance.
Marketing & Recognition:
- Participating partners will be recognized as official ATVBC Skill-Building Partners.
- ATVBC will feature partners in newsletters, social media, and regional event promotions.
- Partners will receive signage and promotional materials to highlight their commitment to rider education.
