It is an honour to introduce myself as the newly elected President of the Quad Riders ATV Association of British Columbia (ATVBC).
I would like to welcome our returning and newly elected Board members. I look forward to working with all of you as we continue building a strong future for ATVBC.
ATVBC extends our sincere thanks to outgoing President, Chris D’Silva, for his years of hard work and dedication. Chris has generously given his time and energy to supporting ATVBC, our members, and our affiliated clubs across British Columbia. We deeply appreciate the commitment and personal sacrifices that come with serving as President, and we are grateful for his passion for our riding community. Thank you, Chris, for your years of service and for the lasting contribution you have made to ATVBC. We wish Chris continued success and fulfillment in all his future projects and endeavors.
Our 25th Anniversary Jamboree and Annual General Meeting, hosted by the 108 Mile ATV Club, was an outstanding success. As AGM chair, I had the pleasure of working with the club during the preparations and saw firsthand the effort that went into the event. My heartfelt thanks to the club and its volunteers for their hard work and warm hospitality. It was especially exciting to experience the ORV access made possible by 100 Mile House’s newly adopted bylaw during the AGM.

Within days of the AGM, we were at the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) Convention, making valuable contacts and speaking with people from municipalities across BC about ATVBC and responsible ORV access. The new 100 Mile House bylaw was a major topic of discussion, including what similar access could mean for communities and local tourism. We look forward to continuing those conversations.

ATVBC is open to working with all stakeholders who share an interest in responsible outdoor recreation and protecting access to British Columbia’s trails and backcountry. ATVBC is currently working to hire a Land Issues Advocate. Once the position is filled, we look forward to introducing them to our clubs and members.
There is much work ahead, but we have a committed Board and many dedicated clubs and volunteers across British Columbia. I look forward to working with all of you to represent the interests of ATVBC members.
Membership Matters
With an estimated 248,000 ATVs and side-by-sides in BC and approximately 4,500 ATVBC members, we have room to grow. Growing our membership and strengthening our voice will be a priority. We will share more as our plans take shape.
Vehicle estimate: ATVBC 2024 Economic Impact Study.
Respectfully submitted,
Cal Kaytor
